The Office of Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development- Mindanao State University, Marawi City invited the Local Chief Executives, CSOs and other stakeholders from Municipalities surrounding the Lake Lanao and Lake Dapao to present the result of PCHRD-DOST- funded research projects classified under Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation.
The MSU researchers assessed the post- Marawi seige conditions of drinking water sources in Marawi City and the water of Lake Lanao, particularly the heavy metals which are usual residues of war munition. Sampling activities were conducted in different locations which include Lake Dapao in the Municipality of Pualas.
The results of the studies are presented to LGUs for awareness and to serve as a guide and reference for LGUs to conduct further investigation and studies to help address and implement the recommendations given by the researchers
