In a significant step towards enhancing local governance and service delivery, 230 Barangay Officials from Makabagong Pualas recently completed the BBNEO Foundational Training. This collaborative effort between the Local Government of Pualas and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) in Lanao del Sur aimed to empower newly elected officials and equip them with the skills necessary for effective governance.
The training, which took place on February 5, 2024, at NDRM Kalimudan in Marawi City, was attended by officials from 23 Barangays. Notable figures present at the event included Mayor “Tenney” T. Ducol, Provincial Director Cader Indar of MILG-LDS, APD Sohra Basir, LnB President Gamal Regaro, and MLGOO Rayhannah Andig-Datumanong.
The BBNEO program focuses on four key modules: Governance and Administration, Environment and Disaster Management, Financial Management, and Moral Governance. These modules are designed to enhance the skills of barangay officials and promote excellence in basic service delivery.
Led by LGOO Rayhannah Andig-Datumanong and colleagues from MILG, including LGOOs Alitaher Lucman and Mohammad Fauzie Bangcola, the training provided insightful discussions and practical guidance to the officials. Radyo Pilipinas Broadcaster Mam Johaniah also contributed to the training, enriching the discussions with her expertise.
During the training, Mayor Tenney Ducol expressed his unwavering support for the barangay officials, acknowledging the crucial role they play in Barangay Development. He praised their contributions to governance milestones and the delivery of essential services to constituents.
The training concluded with the awarding of certificates to all participants for completing the four modules. Special recognition was also given to the best-performing delegates, highlighting their commitment to enhancing their skills and knowledge in local governance.
The completion of the BBNEO Foundational Training marks a significant milestone for Barangay Officials in Makabagong Pualas, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to serve their communities effectively.
